I helped a guy today was created by JR
I helped a guy push his 85 Eliminator up a ramp and onto a pickup truck. The bike had died on him and he had phoned the local shop to come pick him up. I just happened by a few minutes before the guy with the truck. Nice bike, or rather would have been nice if it was running.

Strange thing was he was selling it because he had just bought an 883 Sportster. What am I missing ?

You're not missing anything. The Kaw is just that smart by training him for the future.  :pinch:

Nates vintage bike axiom: Riding is the reward for time spent wrenching.
Murphys corollary: Wrenching is the result of time spent riding.

Last Sunday, 8 of us rode from Huntsville down to Barber Motorsports Park near Birmingham, about 120 miles, to see the Superbike race. 2 miles from the track, my friend Dave on his Buell went down at about 25mph. He turned out OK, just scrapes & bruises, but went to the hospital to get checked out, X-rays, etc. The bike is beat up pretty good, broken shifter, bent handlebars, it's unrideable. So I head back to Hsv to get my pickup truck, then head back to Bham to get Dave & the bike. All in all I drove about 500 miles that day. Boy was I tired when I dropped Dave off at his house. And boy did that first beer of the day taste good!

The other guys in the group did not go to the race without us. They went to 29 Dreams m/c resort for lunch, then just came back home.

I was severely bummed about not getting to see the race, but very thankful that Dave is OK. There are a couple of other bike races at Barber this fall; hopefully we'll make it to one of those without incident.

Anyway, last Sunday I did my good biker deed for the week.

And after all that, I went over to my girlfriend's to work on her lawnmower like I had promised. The carb was gummed up from sitting all winter with old gas in it. Mercifully, carb cleaner & Seafoam did the trick, I got it running in just a few minutes without having to pull the carb. Wutta day!
