Found a gem in the woods, a 79 KZ1300 deep in the woods of Northern Ontario. The bike is in a cabin, sitting since 1998. I drove about 2 hrs to find the place. The owner is an elderly gent who's tired of looking at the bike sitting in the dining room. The bike is in fair-good shape. Of course it hasn't run in 10 years, tires are shot but it's all there. Needs a lot of TLC, carb cleaning, etc, etc.

Is it worth $250? Did I buy it?

You did well...log onto www.kz1300.com to see what you might have to do to bring the bike up to speed (cam chain adjuster, etc.):)

I'll post some pics when I pick it up this week. I'm going to need a truck with 4 wheel drive, its a rough road into the cabin. I've already joined the KZ1300 group, but I still have my 84 ZX750.

Well, I think you did well.

From experience, the toolbox/airbox cover is worth over $150.00....

Plan on getting new coils for it ($425+).

Heavy and unique bike for sure.
peace,
michel

It is still to cold to ride!
