My first ever motorcycle show this weekend ... any tips ???

I honestly didn't build my KZ to show ... I built it to please myself and to ride ... but it came out soooo nice ... that I think I'm gonna enter it in a local bike show this weekend.

I had it 80% cleaned and polished but the past three days have been so nice I've been riding. Saturday it's supposed to rain so I'll get her cleaned back up tommorrow. Sunday is the show.

There are 10 classes ... vintage being one of them ... also a couple different metric classes and the rest are Harley classes. I'll probrably enter in vintage ... we'll see.

So any tips on competing in a motorcycle show ??? I've lots of experience with car shows ! Do they pretty much look for the same things fit-finish-clean-presentation, etc ?

Dale I think you should come get one of my bikes tomorrow, take it home with you and then spend the rest of the day cleaning it up so it looks as good as your bike. Then Sunday you can enter it and if it doesn't win you won't be too upset. Sounds like a good plan to me. Seriously though, good luck. You sure put enough hard work into that bike. Let's hope the judges feel the same way about the bike as I do.

lol ... Thanks Andy .... as for coming after one of your bikes to "clean up" .... I wouldn't mind trying my hand at that '77 1000 LTD you just drug home !!! Might take me more like a year to get her done but ..... well .... I'm gonna PM you about it !

Thanks Dave ..... here it is 6:24 AM Sunday morning and it's raining .... My bike is all nice and clean and ready to show, I have no way to get it there other than ride it. jeez

I have till about 10:00 to make up my mind if I'm going or not ... stay tuned

Shoe, I'm coming to the show even if I have to drive my cage. I really don't want to ride my bike on wet roads after having spent so much time cleaning it up. If the road in front of my house is dry by 9:30 I'll bring the bike .... one way or another I'll see Ya there.

I rode my bike in the rain to the show anyway !!!! I figured that there would be others there that rode in too so what the hec .... I was right.

I think my bike showed pretty well even though it was dirty from wet roads ... it had a lot of lookers and people saying nice things about it but I didn't win anything ... and that's cool ... I had fun !!!

But Shoe48 did win !!!! 1st place in Metric Bike Class !!!

The Kawasaki brand was well represented by you guys. Between you and Shoe you've probably got two of the most labor intensive bikes that I know of. What is it about you Mansfield guys? Must be something in the water.:laugh: Glad to hear you two had a good time.
