Hi,
I have the cams for my 1000 for sale on ebay along with the bearings and caps. I just received a message stating the following:
"Sir, this is not a question but rather a request. Please do not sell the bearing caps with the cam shafts. The bearing caps were machined at the factory to the head and must must must be sold with the engine head. Just a friendly heads-up! Good luck with your sales."
Is this true?

Yes.
For the 650, at least, the caps are numbered and the manual states that they should not be installed in any other position since the machining process is done with them in place and they align as a true bore in that position.
He's right, keep them with the head.

need more advice please..
I am also selling the head. It is in good shape, no broken fins. Do I sell it with the shims and buckets, or sell them separately? How much should I ask for the head with and without the shims and buckets?
Thanks

Sell the head with the buckets/shims if it's to one of us guys here. LOL Usually, the head is sold seperately with the cam caps. Shims/buckets are sold seperate and alone...I've seen it both ways. Most guys will probably be looking at the shims anyway. Personally, I don't look at buckets much but always look at shims for the sizes..list the sizes.

It is to one of the guys here, and I have no idea what the sizes are. Are they measured in diameter or thickness?

You'll see them marked as 270, 265, 260, 255, 250, etc. If you mic them, they are 2.650 mm, 2.500 mm, 2.450 mm, etc.
There are different diameters as I recall (somebody will correct me if I'm wrong) so order for your engine and you'll be fine. So far I've ordered my shims through Z1 Enterprises. Often a few shims can be shuffled around and then just the ones needed have to be ordered.
