New Rider - Old Bike was created by Kellen79_650
Well, I consider myself a new rider even though I have had a bike for over 2 years now. Most of that time it has been in pieces in my garage or in some state of disrepair. But today that all changed. For the first time in over 10 years the bike got to see the freeway as it shuttled me to work. And for the first time in my 24 years I saw the freeway from a bike. It was a great feeling to finally be able to ride my bike to work and be able to say that I made it run (with the great help of KZRider of course). Thanks to all who helped me. I've got more questions coming.

"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, Brave, Hated and Scorned. When his cause succeeds however, the timid join him, for then it costs NOTHING to be a Patriot."

Great stuff Kellen. I bet the bike was smiling too, getting to stretch it's legs after all these years.

Congrats, Kellen.

Always good to hear about a project that becomes a good ride. And I thought my SR took a "long time" from May to September to get my first ride. :S

Yup, beware the cages. I took the MSF Beginning Rider Course almost three years ago even though I'd carried my M endorsement since 1980. I hadn't ridden since the late '80s, so it really boosted my confidence and taught me some new skills I'd never had learned on my own. I highly recommend it to any rider, new or re-entry.

Nates vintage bike axiom: Riding is the reward for time spent wrenching.
Murphys corollary: Wrenching is the result of time spent riding.
