KZ1000P on craigslist...some advice?

Here's a '93 KZ1000, asking $650.

It's not the '77 that I'm looking for, but it'd be fun to turn it into a fat kaw, or maybe something like sweetback's wide ride.
It's not running, needs a battery, starter, and clutch work.

What do you think?

If no rust/pits anywhere I'd offer $300 and I'm REALLY cheap.

Unless you have lots of spare cash, time, and room, hold out for what you want.
