I saw these dust covers listed on ebay when they were first listed with an opening bid of $5.00 ebay item#380006490283. Since I need a set for one of my bikes I thought I'd keep an eye on them in case I might be able to get them cheap. I knew I could order them from Z-1 Ent. for I thought around $30. Anyway the auction has ended and they sold for $41.00 plus shipping! I checked Z-1 ent's site and find out they are only $23.50:laugh: and yes they are the exact same OEM parts that Z-1 is selling not aftermarket.

I see that alot on eBay where folks don't do their homework...if there is a part that Jeff may carry, I double check against him (add in shipping) and use that as my top bid...if that gets exceeded, then they deserve the part:)

Strange as it seems, I think a lot of people don't find this site or Jeff's. However, priced against a dealer's price quote, that price is likely cheap.

It seems like people just want to 'win' the bid and it becomes a shit-show after a while, "that jerk, I'll show him." Guess with all the work/time put into monitoring a potential purchase people are willing to spend more money to regain the time put in.

I say awesome. So maybe it is better to sell, than to buy on that site.

Jeff at Z1 sells (or at least he did) parts on eBay, and they generally sell for more than they cost direct from his web site.

Lots of stupid people in this world :S

So many times, I have seen used, beat up parts go for 2-3 times what a brand new part sells for. I really think some of these guys just know what they want but have no idea where to buy the parts so they figure this is what they cost. I've also sold some parts that absolutely floored me at what they sold for, so I guess I won't complain too much.

Along the same lines, anyone see this NOS grab rail on ebay? Went for $137! You could have rechromed BOTH your rails for less than that...

Are you serious, Blue ??? What does that fit ?? It looks suspiciously like the 2 I bought for my 650C2 last year.
I paid the grand sum of $20 plus shipping for the 2 of them
and they came in the factory wrappers. The guy had 3 more for the same price if I wanted them. The dealer wanted $55 EACH....but no shipping !!!

Yea it's true. I watched the auction and could not believe it. I bought a NOS one in the wrapper also and it was about $20 total, but it was wrong (too short) so a member here bought it from me. I assume you could get both rechromed (not Jap chrome) for $50 or less? Some people...

While it's true that some folks allow themselves to be ripped off on eBay, there are still some unbelievable (and I use that word literally) deals to be had by the smart shopper. Check out this bargain, especially the benefits list. (Please notice benefit #6 – immortality). Only 13 bids so far with 4 days left. I’m surprised that more people aren’t competing for this bargain.

Ed, what amazes me about the link you posted is that the guy is a powerseller with 100% positive feedback. I guess when you get hosed on something that stupid you don't have the guts to admit to the world you got screwed.
