Metal Fab Shop Parts? was created by bkitchen
I just started work at a local metal fabrication shop. Is there any parts that I could manufacture that could be used by many here? Shoot me some ideas. I can have full access to the shop on my off hours. He has mills, lathes, water jet, breaks, shears, rollers, welders, you name it. so let me know your ideas and if there is something that I can make a few of I will see what I can do. Could be anything from swingarms to rearsets. Just looking at ideas at this point won't know cost until I decide on something.

If you read through the archives I'm sure there are all kinds of things people keep asking for. Some things that come to mind are: weld on aluminum shock mounts for newer swingarms, spacers for Kz rims in Gs1100 arms, HD motor mounts, oil cooler adapters, brake caliper adapters for newer calipers to older fork legs, etc. Need some more ideas?

I want one part that I could make a lot of. That is the only way I can afford to do it. I like the ideas but keep them coming. I am thinking something like a custom fork brace with either a KZ900 KZ1000 or Z1 nameplate. Something like this drawing I made. What would be a good price for something like this and I will see how much it would cost to manufacture. It would probably be 1/2" aluminum with a steel or stainless steel plate.
