Sweet Kawi Flattracker
10 Mar 2008 20:07
I found this pic on the caferacer.net forum.
The engine appears to be the new Ninja 650 single.
Whatever it is, it is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

Neat bike without a doubt, but the only 650 Ninja I know of is a twin.
Maybe the 650 Enduro??
Nope, not a 650, it's a KLX450R dirt bike motor (my best guess anyway).

Kaw makes a 650 dual sport single so maybe that is the engine. For sure not a Ninja 650
Harley Davidson- Turning gas into noise without the harmful affects of horsepower for over 100 years.

Here is the 650 Ninja flat track bike, obvious differences.
Note the "two" exhaust pipes.
And here's #42 at Daytona March 6 2008
Anyone know Bryan Smith of Flushing MI?
He's the one riding it.
If that is a 650 twin then he would be racing against the Harley XR750's, yet there's not a Harley in the Main Event, Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and one Rotax.
He came in third, and it's the AMA Grand Nationals Singles Championship, so it positively can't be a 650 twin.
www.amaflattrack.com/article.php?sc=1074...PURfh3UHte5zQNlQbFGh
And here he is on his other race bike, a Harley XR750.
By the way, that's AMA National Number 42, and he's a top ranked rider on both the Kawasaki 450 and the Harley XR750, won Daytona and (I think) Springfield last year.
I quit

There's no doubt about that (see my post further up), the question was whether it started off as a KX450 or KLX450 motor (not that it really makes any difference), and I'm waiting on a reply from Bryan Smith (AMA #42) to answer that question.
The XR750 is not his, it's owned by a Harley dealer, but the 450 may be his.
