Soon my father and I will be working on his 2003(?) Kawasaki Voyager; specifically the cruiser control system.
The cruiser control does not currently work. My father bought the bike over winter and when he took it for the first spin the cruiser control didn't work. The dealer that sold the bike had detailed the bike. The dealer will not fix or look at the bike now.
So, anyone ever worked on the cruiser control system on these bikes? I would really like to get a wiring diagram for the bike. The manual my father has is electronic and the wiring diagram did not make it through the scanning process.
Thanks for your help.

It's complicated, and I don't understand most of the system.
But, I know that the bike has to be in 5th gear, and the Overdrive Light in the instrument cluster needs to be lit.
Next time you're in 5th gear, check to make sure you have a light. If you don't, try this:

or this...

Good luck.

Hey cafekz750,

The 1200 Voyager is a great bike. It's weak point is the front end. It's way wobbly. Get him hooked up with a Superbrace and he'll be very pleased. I owned a 1200 for six years and can only say it was powerful and bullet proof. The ground clearance can be a consideration unless the operator's willing to pump up the rear shocks to their max.

Don't let my comments about a wobbly front end worry you. The 1500 Wings are no better. And, AND a 1200 Voyager will roll past ANY 1500 Wing in any gear.

Enjoy it!

From what I've been able to gather about mine which doesn't work either, the cruise control system is composed of two seperate systems... the computer controller/indicator and the potentiometer/holder.

You can test these seperately. If the cruise indicator comes on and off when you press the cruise button, the computer part is working and so you can narrow it down to the holder... I think. Like I said I haven't gotten that far with mine, and it also might be different.:P Good luck and let us know how you come.

Go to the Voyager site and do some research. There are many posts on this subject. Most problems with the CRUISE CONTROL are not in the cruise control brain itself but are in one of the interlocks. My cruise failed to engage and I found that one of the interlocks was the problem... by jiggling the clutch lever, I could get the cruise to engage and so with some cleaning of the clutch interlock, I was able to fix the problem. There are interlocks on both brakes and in the external shift mechanism as well (transmission/shifter).
