1980 KZ650F1, Bought new out the door for $2,162.98!
Prep Manual was created by Bluemeanie
Have seen these on ebay and thought they were kind of interesting. I've seen a few for 650's but when a prep manual came up just for my '80 F1 I knew I had to have it! Well $24.62 later it was in my mailbox. Pretty neat little book, describes with pictures the whole assembly from crate to complete bike. Nothing special in there but ALL the normal adjustments are there, some are more detailed than others. Even shows the proper routing for all cables and wiring, detailed headlight aiming, etc. I found that I'm supposed to have a right side spacer on fender and a rubber mat under battery. Just a neat book to have for your bike, kinda like a baby book from when she was born. I recommened getting one for your specific bike if you get the chance, I now have this to go along with the Clymers and the FSM. But I'm easily amused too!!

Interesting...I have been thinking about picking some up for my bikes, just for the sake of 'completeness' (I really like information).

I see a few on eBay. The cover shows a C model but the description is mum on the model(s) covered. Is each prep manual model specific or is it inclusive?
My guess is that the seller may just say "yes" to get a sale.

Well in my case the seller said it was for an F1 and the pic looked right so I got it. Don't know if one may cover different versions, but in my case it covered just mine. The pic say's KZ650F1 and gives a part number. Don't know where you could check these numbers though. Ask the seller what it says on back?

NONB, Is this is the one you saw? If so then it covers just the KZ650 C1, 77 right? They also had 3 550's, 440, 750.

Yep, Bluemeanie, I've been trying to find one of those AND an owner's manual AND the correct FSM for my C2.
I have an FSM but the C1's and C2's are not covered in it...just the B's/D's and C3's. I'ts got enough info in it to do all the normal stuff....but I'm like you....I gotta have the right paper. There is a guy on the Bay with what appears to be the correct FSM but he wants $65.00 plus shipping. I don't need it THAT badly. Now if I can find the prep manual and an owner's manual.....
I wonder why C2 stuff is so hard to find. Maybe they kept using the C1 stuff (for the prep manual) ??
Heck I even posted on Want It Now for the owner's manual but no joy.
