No, not rare at all. Kawasaki brought in plenty of them in 1978 and 1979. They may not have the numbers of the 650B and C models which had a three year run, but SRs are far from rare.

He may not believe you...I emailed a fellow on CycleTrader for some info on a 1981 KZ1100B1 (GPz) he'd listed and he categorically stated that his bike was all original w/carbs, 4into1, red paint w/NO stripes, etc. Said I was a fool because Kawasaki didn't come out w/FI bikes until 1982. At that point, I stopped communicating, for obvious reasons.

NOt sure if it is rare or not but for $500 or less, who cares. You could probably get it for $350-400 and have a nice runner.

Really bad pictures! First of all 1 out of 600? Come on, they made thousands of these! Looks to be a frankenbike, appears to be a SR with standard KZ rear fender and duckbill. Has chrome SR chain gard, pass footrests, appears to be SR headlight holders and SR fuel tank. Looks to be 18in rear wheel? Front fender wrong, NOT original paint. Don't know if someone was trying to mod this bike or it was just pieced together.

Shane you and I are usually on the same page when it comes to these old bikes but on this one we aren't. That bike is so Frankened up I can't even figure out what all has been done to it. IMO $200.00 would be very strong money for that bike and from the way the ad reads you know the owner won't accept that. Anyone who would believe that bike only has 7829 miles on it is an idiot. I'd run away from this one there are much nicer bikes to be had for that kind of money that haven't been butchered.

That, my friends, is a mess!
It's defintely no SR (take it from a guy that's been over a mostly original one several times over the past few years). The side covers look to be 1981 or later. I'm guessing that it started life as an Ltd 650 with other pieces grafted on later.
