Not a big fan of shafties. Nothing wrong with them, just not my gig.

Not bad, but same thought here. I DO like the maintanece free factor but not the right angle power loss factors. Good price though.

If it were closer I'd buy it in a heartbeat! The tank, clocks, brakes and seat are worth that much!

Sure they are a bit heavy stock but the power loss from the cardan shaft drive can be negated by improvements to the production of power (air intake and exhaust) plus a little removal of weight. Do that and a fairly stock chain drive 1000 is going to have trouble leaving you. Add a 1075, cam's and head porting and it will come down to the rider to make the difference with a comparable chain drive 1000 on the street. Jacking will be the biggest issue when powering out of turns, it takes some getting use to...

I love mine too. After I bought it, I was kicking myself for not buying one new for the road trips instead of the MKII.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

yeah, everyone does pick on ron.
he does have some damn pretty bikes though.
i am not as wealthy as ron to be able to afford a mint oe kz. i make do with what i got.

and btw, i just love my shaftie! it is so damn smooth while shifting and all i have to do is change the oil in the drive once a year. (plus it's a 1100 gpz motor  )

and yes ron, it is 100% oe paint. :P

i looked for a long time for a oe matching side cover for it.
now if i could just find the cover for the swingarm bolt on the right side i'm all set.

you really do have a fine machine there ron. i'm Jealous

(btw, i just washed it, that is not a oil leak  )

I think I got the one I was missing from Shannon (OSR - Old School Racing). Anyone parting out a shaft model will sell it to you, the hard part is getting them to understand what it is. Use the image above, it worked for me.

Thanks for the comments guys. I was fortunate to be a collector before anyone collected these Kawasakis. I figure about $9000 for all 6 of the KZs and the H2. That's still a bit of money, but better then than now. Mostly the 1000MKII and the H2, those are pretty good money nowadays.
