If this were closer to me and I had the cash, I'd be all over it (sniped in the last few secs of course:whistle:) in a heartbeat! :woohoo:
1978 KZ 650 with trailer and lots of spare engine parts
Hopefully someone (Bad Kaw, this isn't all THAT far from you!) who will appreciate and care for this nice KZ650 will buy it.

I saw that a few days ago. It's at $900 with 3 days to go so he's gonna get a good price! Nice bike!

Now this is TOOOOO weird. That's my bike except for the exhaust and fairing, of course AND....
his VIN and mine all have the same figures in them...just moved around some. How strange is THAT ???
:woohoo:
Looks like he's going to do well with his final price. currently at $1126 with ~20 hours to go.
Bad Kaw should be all over this one. Chance of a lifetime, man.

The one in the garage looks like a mix of 77 and 78. 77 had one front disc with wire wheels. The motor looks like 77, and it's missing the rear drum.
I'm guessing frame and motor go with the title, but the rest is frankened.
The 1st and 3rd are nice ones though.

The one in the garage is a '77 C model, which came with mags and 3 discs (2 up front , 1 in back).
The B model came with spokes and drum rear brake, single disk up front.
They all look to be in good shape.
I just finished converting over to a Kawi elec. Ign, again, and have spark! I'm itching for Spring! :woohoo: :side: :silly:

The one in the garage is a '77. The Custom had twin calpiers behind the forks and cast wheels. Also, unless the tank was swapped, it is correct for a '77 Custom - notice the pinstripes come to a sharp angle toward the front of the tank. Compare to the '78 where the pinstripes curve toward the front of the tank. Also, as Gorack pointed out, the '77 has the 3 allen bolts showing through the stator cover. Ed

The one in the garage is without question a 77 and one of the first 23,100 produced. The paint is correct for the reason Ed pointed out about the striping. Like gorack noticed the stator cover is correct for a 77. The large round front master cylinder is unique to the 77 as well, in 78 they changed to a trapezoidal shaped one. The way I can tell that it is one of the earlier production 650 C's is the style of rear brake caliper used.
What is not correct or missing, the seat has been recovered and is missing the strap. The pullback handlebars were added which means to bring it back to original condition you would be looking at new throttle and clutch cables as well as the upper brake hose together with the stock bars. The sissybar is an add-on so the passenger grabrails are missing.
It needs the usual cleaning a neglected 31 year old bike needs but it is the least molested and cobbled up of the 3. I need to stop looking at this bike, lest I give into temptation. I already have too many 650's and this one is too close for comfort.:pinch:

Well, this 650 went for $1,280.00! I guess now that BadKaw will never afford a 650! He should have grabbed one when prices were lower. :woohoo:

The first one ended at $1280.00, pretty strong money in my opinion. Here lately these 650's have been doing pretty good especially when you consider prime selling season is still a few months away. Maybe I should get off my ass and finish a few of mine so I can have a herd reduction sale this spring.
If this trend keeps up Bad Kaw will never know the joys of owning a 650. :woohoo:
