Why do you have more than one KZ? was created by inline79
I just saw this ad in my local CL:
vancouver.craigslist.ca/mcy/556334095.html

and I'm tempted, but I already own a 650 which (finally) runs well. I just like the feeling of bringing something back from the dead. I'll go see it, if it's all stock and beautiful I can't resist.

Certainly you guys have been in the same situation. Why did you get another broken KZ when your first one works perfectly fine? (aside from being a Parts Bike).

In my case, I bought a running bike, then the bike stopped running.

So, I bought another one to ride while I fixed the first. It didn't run well, my bad.

Then I spent a whole bunch of time with those two bikes in various states of disrepair.

Once they were both running, the first one crashed. So, I bought a 3rd, in case I needed a backup for my now-only bike.

Then I rebuilt the first.

Then, somebody offered me the 4th at a price I couldn't refuse.

Here I am, 4 bikes and holding. Wife says if I want a Thruxton, I have to get rid of one...

The more the merrier, between my dad and i we have well over a dozen bikes, and most of them run, or are close to running. So I say what the heck, you never know when you'll need it.

Well I first got my first Kz and didnt know what it wassince SR650's dont have the letters KZ on them in the open. Then I found this site and I didnt know how interesting these bikes where til I found this site. Then I was just looking on CL and found my kz1000 which I really felt like rescuing from the clutches of young kids like myself that only crash old stuff. Sad to say I don't have a bike I can jump on and start right now. As soon as my chain and sprockets get here and I am finished painting it then I can ride, especially as soon as I put new oil and filter in it......did sparkers and wires weeks ago

i got eight KZ's and about 14 bikes total. i just want every bike i find and if it is cheap enough, i buy it. i told the wife i will stop at 25...but i lied :)
but the main reason i get them is that there is rarely anything really wrong with them besides neglect. and a bike doesn't deserve to go to the junkyard because someone did not take care of it.

Always wanted a KZ and got the 400 a couple of years ago. Bought the 750 this September and am slowly working on it over the winter. Hopefully I'll get it up and running well this Spring.

Wife said I could keep the 400 until I know the 750 is a reliable rider.
