Ever run across Bacon's "Kawasaki-Z1 to Ninja" book. Depending when you look for it it can range from $100 to $500 new. Right now on Amazon a new one costs $120+. That is cheap compared to sometimes. I have 2 pristine copies that I sometimes think I should be keeping in the strongbox.
But it does come in cycles. I needed a oil pump for a 900 and at that time there just were none. Dealer said he could get one for $200.(yeah:pinch: ) I picked one off EBay for $45 and thought I stole it. 6 months later Ebay was full of $19 oil pumps.

It's one thing to need it and another thing to want it! Needing it means bend over and wanting it means Oh well I guess I'll have another beer...

Weird.
It's not a "Z1" manual, but I give away the KZ900 manual on cd for free. I even pay postage, in the US.

I'm glad I purchased my copy of 'Z1 to Ninja' when I did and I have been looking for the companion volume ('Sunrise to Z1') and those are going for US$150 to $400:pinch:

Geez, mine still sits in the tail piece tray where it was when I bought it new in March of 1973. It's pretty worn, though, and the cover is taped to the pages. I wonder what my factory shop manual would go for, even with greasy fingrprints on nearly every page? And I even have that little plastic "Kawasaki Kard" they gave me, it's like a credit card sized little card they would check off on the back when you brought it in for warranty check ups.

There are some folks who will pay nearly any amount for something they "must" have. This is also true in the gun collecting world. How much would you shell out for a tiny screwdriver?

If I won the lottery and money was not an object, I'm still cheap but have to admit I would pay big bucks to have a one of a kind item. I can understand $800 (WOW) for an almost 80 year old very hard to find part to make your gun collection complete. But if I owned a 33year old 900 I would just pay ltdrider for one of his CD's. I guess to each his own.
