1980 KZ550 C1 ( Ltd) SIN?????

I Just obtained an semi running 1980 Kz550 LTD It is a project and a half at one time some one had put a front fairing on it andnow it is missing the head light and well pretty much every thing that makes it street legal My question is did it ever come with the rear grab bar that i see in some pictures and if not would it be a Restoration sin to put a sissy bar on the bike. I would like to use it as my daily commuter( after i get it up and running) but i need the sissy bar bag for rain gear and misc stuff. But i would like to make it like factory spec again.

Alot of fairings from that era (Vetter for example) used the factory headlight and just mounted it in the fairing. On some of the Vetters they used the factory turn signals as well and just mounted them to the fairing mounting bracket. If you still have the fairing you may be able to just remove it and remount the factory equipment to the bike. If not you should be able to pickup a headlamp and whatnot on ebay pretty easily. As for the grabrail, yes they came with one from the factory. It is your bike so if a sissybar will work well for you go for it. You can always remove it down the road if you want, no harm done.

Hello Lastdrgn! Put whatever you want on the bike...most of the bikes you see on this site are not restorations
