After many of us put our names to a petition and have written extensively that Kawasaki should capitalize on the new retro interest,
Honda once again beats them to the punch
just as I was afraid would happen.
Once again Kaw will be forced to "follow the leader". :pinch:

And all they had to do was make us a concept and see if we liked it or back to the drawing board. I like that pic that we had of the yellow and black motorcycle, I think it was a 1100 also.

One thing the mfgs see is the short life run of the retro cars, although there was a bunch sold they dont seem to last very long, and the market seems to lean towards the "new" look in the market

Kawi does have their retro bikes, the ZR series. They just haven't brought them over to North America. Not sure if they're available in Europe or elsewhere either.

Well if that CB1100 makes it to the streets and it sells well, Kawasaki would almost HAVE to bring some of those ZR's over here, don't ya think? Even better, if any of the bean counters at Kawasaki have seen Honda's intentions, then most assuredly they're already working on it.

I've really had no interest in new motorcycles for quite a while. Sportbikes don't fit me, and V-twin cruisers aren't my style either.
But I'd buy that new ZR1100. I'd also look hard at the CB1100. It's a good looking bike.

I'm with ya LTD. I guess we just grew up in an era where motorcycles actually looked like motorcycles, and not something from a Power Rangers cartoon. And if it weren't for a few movies about motorcycle gangs and the resultant "coolness factor", the V twin would've died a long time ago.

I don't even mind liquid cooled bikes. I am cool with keeping up with the times as far as the motors go. I don't understand why 'retro' needs to be detuned...
There is alot to say for 1970's styling... It is practical and looks good without screaming "look at my shinny new plastic toy"

Here's the Zephyr X from 2005 or 2006. I think it's a 400 in Japan, but would probably be a 550 in the U.S.
