KZ1000P general questions was created by 1982KZ1100D1
I've had my eye on a 1000P thats been sitting near me for the last few years and thinking I might go ask if they would sell it. It's been a loooooong time since I had a chain drive. Are the new replacement chains and sprockets lasting quite a few miles? How expensive would it be to frehen up the top end with new cyl.s and pistons? know of a good source for the top end kit? I would like to set it up like Picinisco's bike with the trunk.
  • I think it would make a nice "commuter bike" with all the storage.

All the parts you ask about are avalible through a couple sites Z1 Enterprises being the best in my book ,, Dont know of any Kit you can buy , Chains last a long time if you take care of them . again Z1 can fix you up with sprockets and chains , I did a 1990 1000P last summmer , Ms. December on the new Calender , it was real straight forward and not that hard to do .. You will enjoy riding the Cop bike if you should get it . very stable bike with lots of power . keep us informed with lots of Pictures :) :) :)

Thanks Shoe48. That's a sweet P ya got there! I'll be sure and start a thread in the project section if I get it. My luck it will be one of those "It's not for sale. I'm gonna fix it up one day" deals and I'll have to watch it slowly rot away and die a slow death because the guy never touches it.:(
