Got a project in the garage even as we speak. It's an '81 900F and I've got an 1100F motor to go into it, some inverted forks off a TL/S (what else is that bike good for? ) and then she'll just be a daily-driver.
I've never been a fan of some of the engineering that was used in the CB900/1100 motors  ; but I do like the bikes.
Nice bike Breeze; you frequent the CB900/1100F site?

What was this Polar Bear ride you speak of? Who organized it? Where did you go, and how long was the ride?
Have you ever done the Oregon 500 that the Rose City Motorcycle Club does every May?
I've done it every year for the past 4-5 years. Didn't see too many old KZs in the field.

It was fun. I was the only old KZ around. There were a couple of the Eddie Lawson replicas, a green one and a red one. That red one has got to be pretty rare, never seen one before. I don't do many group rides -- usually just the Flying Fifteen Spring opener. There were a few guys with Rose City MC jackets. I've never done the Rose City 500, so let me know when it comes up -- it'll be nice to see another old KZ!

I don't know that there is much to be envious of. They must have been great bikes in their day but time has not been kind to the limitations of their technology and Honda's fascination with creating one-off incompatible parts. The KZ's seem to hold up better due to their sheer strength and toughness. What I like best is their smooth riding and retro appearance.

Skyman, I heard about it from a guy I bought a helmet from a couple weeks ago. Here's the CL listing:

Thanks, Siggy. Too mad I missed that one. Yesterday would have been a good day for a ride. Today, on the other hand... :pinch:
As for the Oregon 500, it is always the 2nd Saturday in May (this year it is May 10th). Here's the link to their website...
