You can get to the maps of the routes through the link listed in the post above or click here to go straight to the routes page:
www.stormloader.com/spacesailor/SWOKZ_Routes.html

There are two morning routes, one for the relaxed pace group and one for the spirited group (about 50 miles longer).

The afternoon route is the same for both groups. Great road conditions and nice curves, just don't look off at those fantastic views across miles and miles of valleys or you might be puckering up some seat vinyl!

These roads for the most part run on top of ridges so you have unobstructed views for miles, they are great mix of sweepers and hairpins.

Let me know if you have trouble with the maps or anything, thanks!

Here's the latest on the rally.

First off the motel has agreed to a $85 per night rate, you must reserve the room under the SWOKZ Group rate. If you have any problems just let me know. They are going to try to put us in the same general area if possible too. As long as we are behaved we can have drinks in plastic cups in the breakfast area and lot. Only 33 days left until the rally so I'd suggest making your reservation now!

I just spent the last 3 Saturdays in a row checking out the morning route and other issues. I have found what I believe to be a pretty darn good route to complement the after lunch route.

The morning route has changed, I have the map up of it and one for the entire route. Sort of like Brown County we'll have to ride a rather boring road to get to the good roads in the morning but when you get on KY59 you will be well rewarded for the wait! It is darn near the most perfect road I was able to find for being very challenging and the most fantastic scenery! Not saying the rest of the route is anything less but 59 and 344 are more like some of the best roads those that were on the RRR experienced.

I'll have a turn by turn directions sheet up soon with possible early return routes for anyone finding themselves in need to return to the motel area.

Oh and a word to those going in off of I275 to the AA-Highway on their way to the motel, be sure to gas up at the Shell just off the exit from I275 as gas stations are few and further off the AA on the way. It is about 50 miles from the exit to the motel so plan accordingly. Watch your speeds on the AA as it tends to make you want to twist it a bit more than the limit will allow.

Just a quick update or a shameless bump!

Some riders are staying at the Super 8 in town for around $60, thought I'd pass that along if it will help anyone out.

Just 10 days until the event!!! All procrastinators are running out of time to procrastinate! :P

We now have around 7 KZ's coming as well as a mix of other UJM's and other bikes. The roster is up to 23 bikes so we will break into about 4 groups if things stay the way they are now.

Hope to see you there!

UPDATE! Tomorrow is the big day!

I should have enough maps to leave some at the front desk if anyone should show up late and miss the start. If you are really late just shoot down KY11 to Flemingsburg then across KY32West to Carlisle to meet up with one of the groups at lunch unless you want to run the whole loop and catch up later.

Remember it will be cool in the morning and warm in the afternoon so be prepared!

There is a continental breakfast in the motel lobby or some may want to go over to the Frisch's Big Boy for their breakfast bar before the ride Saturday morning.
