2008 SWOKZ Rally ~UPDATED SEPTEMBER 18th~

Well I guess it is never too early to start so here is the link to the 2008 SWOKZ Rally!

Note that the web address is different than the 2007 SWOKZ.

This year we will most likely be in the northern Kentucky area east of I75, south of the Ohio River and north of I64. I will update the exact route this spring but no matter where the rally is run it will be September 20th pending weather.

If you are considering coming then please sign up early, it helps with the early planning more than you would believe!

Thanks again to everyone that came in 2007 and with better weather this year I'm hoping there will be more attendees!

Already have 5 signed up and the route isn't even finalized! That's because rally's like this are a blast!

We all had such a great time last year , Lots of good laughs with good routes .. Our Host even bought us all dinner out .. Well ... Hmm we had a good time even if our host didnt buy dinner out .. Sorry Jim had tease you .. Looking forward to this years ride , Come on Kz riders we need to make a better show than last years ride ??

I will definately get off work for it this year. What about a run earlier in the year too? Maybe not as organized as this one. September seems so far away.

Gregory, we will have a Memphis master chef amongst us this year so no more beanie-weanie's :lol:

Brian, there are 2 rides coming up that you might want to check out. The GSR Brown County Indiana Rally and one I'm helping a fellow organize for Red River Gorge in Kentucky. The BC one is the the 16,17 & 18th of May and is a great ride. The Red River rally is just being put together right now and looks like it will be in July. Both rally's are basically the same as the SWOKZ, arrive Friday, ride Saturday, have fun Saturday nite and leave Sunday. Anyone that needs to get back sooner doesn't have to stay Saturday nite and if you're close enough you could just ride to the rally on Saturday morning. I'm planning on going to both and staying both nites of the rallies.

These are both 4 hour rides just to get to the meeting place .. so not sure here

The Red River Gorge ROCKS for sure, whether you are on a bike or not!

Abbie and I had such a good time last year, we'll try as hard as we can to get the stars to allign just right! Tahnkz again for all of your effort.

The rally will be in northern Kentucky this year, better more challenging roads and views that are just plain fantastic. I will be making one more run of the routes soon to make notes to hand out to everyone. Meals and Motel are there for you to look at to, the motel is only 3yrs old and looks brand new in and out, very friendly, beer in cups is OK, no bottles or cans. All festivities like this are AFTER the ride, not before or during, designated drivers required for any coming locally who are not staying the night at the motel.

Don't take this next part as "normal" but while checking out 1237 I almost ran over from behind a local LEO at twice the speed limit, not incriminating myself here but lets just say that 70's show has a hint in it's title! He didn't even so much as give me a second look as I damned near did a stoppie on a Connie! Never saw another one the whole day but that little heart attack was enough for me!

I'd like to hear from all of the out of town riders coming that are going to be staying at the motel so maybe I can get a better rate for everyone, thanks!

Remember there's not a whole lot of good riding weather after this one, so try to make it or you only have yourself to kick when the snow starts flying!
