CR,
You can get snowmobile studs for that tire ya know. Sled shops have them readily available to screw right
in with a screw gun.
They will last longer and give better traction on the ice.
You might lose a few here and there on the asphalt, but they work great.
I'm from Minnesota where we don't have as many cold days as you, but I would think about trying that...for about 30 seconds:pinch:
Are ya nuts???
How do you keep it running in that kind of cold?
FULL CHOKE???

Post edited by: rdgrnr, at: 2007/12/13 21:50

Great pics. Be careful on those roads though. I too love to ride in winter. Here's a shot from last x-mas day.

Funny thing is- some of my friends are suggesting the Z1 to be used as a winter rider, due to it being air cooled, some winter riders thinking the air cooleds start better in cold temps.

You guys don't need generators to get your power back on, you know that right? Inverters on your truck or car will convert your car or truck into a generator. Up here, we have fairly frequent power outages here in the winter, about once a month, and I just plug my car into my house. 400hp generator man!

Go to a parts store- we have Shucks here, and ask about an inverter for your vehicle. It converts 12volts to a 110 set up. On my diesel, I actually have a power take off unit (PTU) - as I have a place "off the grid" up north, and I can just plug my truck into my cabin to charge the cabins batteries, heat the cabin and get it all fired up after I get there.

But lots of folks up here just have plain old inverters- it provides just enough juice to keep the boiler or furnance running during a power outage.
