Wonder what's upgraded on the suspension that's worth the price of the bike?

All I can see is that it has a fork brace, and I don't think that's worth $599.00 :)

I guess the "Fox shock" is the upgraded suspension. Worth 599?

That bike was on Craigslist recently. for around the same price as the BIN. I might have gone to look at it if I didn't have my eye on a couple of other bikes. That, and I am waiting for a couple of clients to send me checks. And my current project bike is still not near finished.

I have seen a number of low priced bikes recently, undoubtedly due to the weather, and the holiday season when everybody could use a few extra $$$.

Like I've said before, I'm srill learning, and learning, and learning...

I guess it's not that good of a deal, or the guy is getting desperate to rid himself of that bike.

Just wondering what some of the negatives that pop out are so that I can get better at judging some of the deals that are out there.;)

That price is a very good deal for that bike, assuming you have the skill and time to fix any problems. I would buy it in a minute, except I am looking in a different direction.

btw, I saw it on the San Francisco Craigslist today for $399.

It is my view that, at least in northern California, there are far more well priced old bikes in need of a little work than there are buyers. I paid an average price of $80 each for my three bikes, but they were cosmetically challenged and in need of total disassembly, clean, repair, paint, lube and reasssembly. That has cost me about $300-400 each.

A bike in running condition is worth more than that, of course, but not an extravagant amount. In any month I could easily find ten running four cylinder KZ's within 100 miles of my house for less than $700 asking price. Yes, they all might need a little something, but they could be made into very presentable daily riders for another $100-200. There is just not yet the demand for these bikes as exists for the older British bikes (for example), so prices are low. I do not see any of us here on KZrider getting rich off of fixing up and selling these bikes. It is more a labor of love, and the satisfaction of knowing we did it ourselves.
