z750 twin specs? was created by iandz500
what sort of power does a z750 twin kick out?

i might swap the z500 engine for a 750 twin but can't find out what power they are.
are they more torquey than the 4cylinder engines too?

thanks
iand

The 750 twin is rated at 54 HP .. this would not be rear wheel hp .. No A Four will out run it many times over , Yes it is very torquy engine with a mild power curve , Very nice all around engine and bikes ,,

You might be disappointed.
Low-end torque? Yes. Speed? No. Power over 4K RPM? No.

but my z500 only had 50hp to begin with, so i'd have thought the 54hp more torquey 750 twin could be as quick?

I wouldn't make the swap.

KZ500 52HP @ 9000RPM

www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/kawasaki/kawasaki_z500%2079.htm

KZ750 (twin) 55HP @ 7000RPM

If I was going to go through all that trouble I sure would want more than a 3HP difference (and that's if the 750 is running like is was when it was new). I'll bet you could do better by fine tuning the engine you have. Ed

I don't know about that, Toast. I'm not saying they have the get up and go of a 4cyl, but mine seems to have plenty of pickup between 4&5K. Haven't had it, much, above 5K because @5 I'm hitting 70mph, and she just seems to get her wind @ 65. ;)

Forget it.

The KZ750 twin motor is much taller than the 500/550 motor, you would have to cut the main frame tube and raise it 2-3" just to get the motor in.

Not a good swap.

The 750 four motor is shorter than the 750 twin motor and would be a much better idea.
