Hey! How many of you guys read the latest issue of MCN? They compared the new Concours to the FJR1300 and the ST1300 and ranked the Concours last every time! Course now, in the last article I read by Mr. Searle, he rated a Buell over a Triumph Speed Triple, so what's he know any way?
Seems that he and his compradres think there's too much trail to really carve canyons. In addition, It wasn't exactly holy water they were spraying on the TetraLever rear end.
I'm reserving judgment till I get to ride one.

WOW!!! The new Connie would have to be really bad to be worse than a waggly/porky ST1300 !!! Of course that IS a Brit paper and they have a little different take on how things should be with any given bike, as I've noticed from time to time. I'll have to check the article out when I get a copy of that issue.

Another comment on the Concours...the Institute for Highway Safety (according to an article in this month's American Motorcyclist) considers the Connie to be a sport bike....in the exact same class they put the 'Busa (Same with the Buell Ulysses and the V-Strom).

Motorcyclist rated the Concours 14 the Sport Touring Bike of the year, and the latest issue has a story on a guy completing the Iron Butt Rally (8,000 miles in 11 days) on one.
Different strokes for different folks I guess.
Personally, I'd love to have one.

Steve, the C14 is Ok I guess but after sitting on it I don't think they were wrong in calling it a sport bike, definitely not the tourer that my 06 Connie is IMHO, at least not for two up. The pass key setup and variable valve is going to make that bike an issue to resale down the road too I believe. I've heard from other COG site members that it has impressive handling and is fast but not as rider friendly. The mirrors are no where near as clear as the old Connie's were, trade offs I'm sure.
The biggest turn off for me was the humongous Hyosung looking can on it, that thing is butt ugly... no offense to anyone else's taste or butt.

I hear that thing wont run with out that large muffer .. something in the computer , I sat on one thought it felt like my 2000 with risers and corbin seat .. I did like the dash ,, It would be nice to ride one since I have sat on mine for so many miles now ,, I agree I bet it is a trade off .. the 14,000 price will keep it out of my hands for awhile now
