Lookin for something new was created by CptEDIV
I'm lookin into buying something new, currently I have a KZ 650 SR, 1979. Just curious if you all have any recomendations. I want something kind of sporty but I like the standard riding position, kinda like the Suzuki SV 650..
Thanks,
Ed

The SV650 is a very nice motorcycle...but you may want to check out the Kawasaki 650R (not the Versys, the other one)

get a 2008 triumph street triple, or Suzuki B-king.. or some other really bad ass bike
nah but serious SV650 is probably the way to go. if you are dead set on something like a brand new crotch rocket i suggest suzukis..i believe you can get the newer models with mode selections for different power outputs so you dont end up smacking into a wall. But really the newer bikes are a little ho-hum to me at least all the bikes ive ridden dont have any character.

Or the Bandit 1250....
Nice bike. I looked at for quite a while back in the early spring. I just didnt want to be making payments on a bike. It was basically down to 2 options.......
A V-Twin street cruiser, or a 4 cylinder higher rpm sporty bike. Almost bought the vulcan 1500. I wanted that bike so bad, got a good deal, approved for the loan, had the insurance all set up to go. All I had to do was go to the dealer, sign the papers, and ride it home. I just couldnt do it. My nephew had a 750 Katana that he kept in my garage, very uncomfortable to ride. He traded it in for a Hyabusa, that was in my garage and I had the key for it. I drove it about 4 times. I just couldnt get into the bike at all. Fast as hell, but not me. I love my 1000 LTD, nobody currently makes a standard bike like the old KZ's. I wish they did cause I would buy one. I guess Im getting old cause I just cant get into the new sporty leaned over euro style bikes. I get plenty of looks on this ol' 82 KZ1000, ya just dont see classic looking bikes like this anymore.

Earlier this summer there was rumor that Honda might be remaking the famous 750.

The Tokyo Motor Show starts on Oct 26 so we should know in a few days if this rumor is true.

I would go with a honda 919. It's a naked standard bike that have a lot of nice power at low RPM so don't need always to go unlegal speed to have some fun.
And here in Canada, those bike are cheap since it is not very popular. So great promotion for 2007 bikes!!!

Has anyone see the Kawasaki 1200 ZR? I like that and the 1200 bandit.. Just not sure if I need all that power yet. Hmm. Thanks for the input though.

What about a ZRX? I love the way they look, alot like the ELR bikes...
I love the ZRX1100's tube swing arm, and i have one waiting to go on to my 650...
If i had the $$ and wanted a bike just to ride (not to tinker with ) than i would be all over one of these bikes!

i think zrx are the way to go, but the problem is that the prices are way up since they quit offering them in the us. you can go with a bandit and have all the same features as the zrx but with a lower price. and they still produce them here, so older models will actually be cheaper, too. classic engine that is still being used is good enough for me right there. i hear its tough too...
