BSKZ650, you're right the damgage was limited to parts that I can easily replace .... no frame damage at all that I can tell. I was just freaked out a little when it first happened. Now that I've calmed down a bit ... things don't seem so bleak ....

Wildh2oskier, Thanks for the offer ... but I really don't think I'm gonna need to replace the frame !

Dale that sucks, I'm probably the only member here to actually see how nice your bike came out in person (it looked really sweet guys). If you decide to put it back together this winter let me know I've got a parts bike here that would have pretty much everything you would need.

Hey Gringo .... you have a PM .... I'm ready to start collecting parts anytime now ... so if you're serious ... PM me back and we can exchange contact info !!!!

Just wanted to say thanks to The Gringo ... I'll have myself a good parts bike this upcoming weekend and maybe my rebuild-rebuild can start a bit sooner than anticipated .... and for much less $$$ than I was anticipating thru Ebay :)

New pics in a new thread in the project section coming soon to a KZ forum near you

It won't be hard to throw on another paint job, then you'll be back good as new.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Dale,

I'm new to the forum but my heart goes out to you as well. I do think you have the right attitude though!

I have a nine year old disabled son that puts the rest of my life into perspective.

I'm sure your next project will be even better than this one.

RonKZ650, just a little more complicated than throwing on another paint job .... this paint job was brand new and pro painted by a good friend of mine ... who is now laid up (motorcycle vs deer wreck) for about 6 months. It was black prismatique ... plus there is that hard ball size dent that now resides on the left side of my tank  But we'll get-r-dun again as soon as he's well!!!

Yep howard8414, my kids are ... well they're my kids .... the damn motorcycle is just bits and pieces of stuff ... much harder to fix kids than it is to fix a motorcycle !!! My wife and I have been foster adoptive parents since 1988 ... we've had quite a few disabled children pass thru our doors over the years ... Plus we have a nephew that just turned 18 who has MS ... so I have an idea of what you're feeling on a daily basis. You'll be in my prayers.

BTW ... my old KZ will be AWESOME when it's done !!!
:silly: Again B)

Glad I could be of help Dale. I'm looking forward to seeing the Phoenix rise from the ashes again. The bike looks good sitting in your shop, much better than it did when it was on my front porch:laugh: . Thanks to you and the boys for helping me get the Fuelie on the porch. I think it is going to spend the winter in my living room.B) I just might sell the pool table so I can fit the rest of the herd in as well.

Thanks rpiian, I wish I would have known about this forum and had this parts bike for the first rebuild this past summer ... I guess I would have still had an extra front end ... LMAO
