650 with 1000 parts? was created by pumps
Saw this on local craigslist..

1977 Kawasaki 650cc-1000cc
This is a 650cc with a 1000cc upper end- pistons, cams, heads & carbs.
Hooker 4 into 1 header with open exhaust.

Is that technically possible?

Anything is possible, but it would be easier to build a 1000 out of a block of steel and a block of aluminum

That's pretty much where I was going..I'm FAR from an expert. Novice would be my ranking but I do read a lot and haven't heard of this one yet.

Someone should email him and let him know he sounds like a jackass. there is no way a 1000 head would fit on a 650 block. Not even with a 16 pound sledge. He might have some 750 parts on it though.

Don I know what you mean. I finally came to the realization that if I had to tell all the knuckleheads that they WERE knuckleheads I wouldn't have time to do anything else. Besides..and don't tell anyone...I'm not perfect either. I'd rather spend the time working on one of the bikes.

Well I contacted the Seller, and this is what He said...

"No I did not do the work myself. In fact I am dont know much about Kawasaki. This is just what the guy told me. I will send you pictures but I cant guarantee that the guy told me the truth. All I know is that it is fast and lots of fun."

Here's the pics...

Even if it was possible to stick a 1000 topend on 650 cases (which I seriously doubt no matter how good a machinist you are), I´d be very interested to know how oil is getting to the cams without external lines. The 1000s have the oil for the top come up around the outer cylinder studs, the 650s have a separate oil galley going up through the block between the outer studs. And besides, why go to all that trouble and then stick a set of VM24s on it? I call BS too, though you can´t really blame the guy for passing on what he´s been told.
