A couple friends went down to the track this weekend with a bone stock kz750. Same one as in my sturgis pics, kinda rigged together but hey, it runs! Needless to say, it wasnt running right, and his brothers caprice wagon(also stock, good motor(lt1) but a heavy car)ended up beating him by a good second. The other friend ran a low 13 on his sportster 883(1200 conversion). They said there was a stock kz1000 there which ran a 12.4? Is this about normal? I am near completing my 810 build,(just wiseco 810cc pistons, gpz cams, and ported gpz head) Does anybody have any guesses to what they think it should run? Anybody with this same setup ran at the track?

To be perfectly honest, there are tooooooooo many factors still unknown to say what the bike MAY run.

What kind of pipe?
What carbs?
elevation?
Sprocket sizes?
How good is the rider?
How heavy is the rider?
How polished and ported is the head?
what is the quality of the polish and port job?
Can you shift without the clutch?
Can you shift fast?

All of this info, and more, is very important.

For instance, Melvis and I used to go to the locak track on our 650's and run. Other than me have 26MM carbs and Melvis having 24MM carbs, everything about the bikes was equal..........

At the 1/8 mile I was a full second AHEAD of Melvis. At the 1/4 mile I was a full second BEHIND of Mevlis!

My bike was geared extremely low and Mevlis' SR is already geared slightly higher than a B or C model.
Also, I outweigh Melvis by about 100 pounds at that time. Furthermore, Mevlis is legit shorter than 5 feet tall, so he literally lines up at the trees with ONE foot on the ground while I can lean out over the tank, both feet touching, and weight to hold the front end down and launch VERY hard off the line.

It REALLY depends on everything to get an idea of what it will run.
