my speedo may be wrong but i hit 145MPH! on the 84 gpz 750! ill admit 110-120mph was a barrier but it hit 145mph at about 8500-8750rpm! the freeway was clear all four lanes so i wot'd and gritted my teeth. the speed wobbles at about 125mph freaked me out but after that it was a laser beam! i hoping with the new motor (top secret) for maybe 175-185mph but we will see. ill even up with those gsxr's yet:evil:

Congrats on hitting the numbers...but...not to ruin your parade...just tell us you were wearing all the proper safety gear. You know most drunks are trying to find their way home that time of night. Just be careful when you get the new engine.

I hate to be the nay-sayer here- but we have done alot of GPS and radar gun top speeds this summer and the last on bikes- but at the top end of those speedos- they are horribly inaccurate. I would be very, very suprised to see that bike break 140mph on a GPS or radar gun. 135 is really pushing it actually.

I will retrat that though if you show me some wind-tunnel tested body work on it- that is more important that the HP at those speeds.

Making the bike better aerodynamically does more than HP at around 120mph.

Is this a turbo 750?

Nah actually you don't need to worry about that til 190mph or so. Get to 200hp first, then you can start thinking about aeros.

200hp costs alot more than a bit of bodywork mate! :woohoo:

- but I did qualify the end of my statement with "say- this isn't a turbo, is it?" :woohoo:

I think that will do way past the GSXR's. You will be running with stock 'Busa's and zx14's then (if you believe radar guns and testing facilities).

But on the internet, you are right in line with what hopped up Silverwings and Reflexes are rockin.

84 GPZ750. Modded with stock Kawasaki parts: ZR-7 shock, ZX-6 coils, GPZ1100 throttle, EN454 brake, GPZ900 fuse box, etc. and non stock: Ken Sears mirrors, K&N filter, Pirelli Sport Demons.
