I HIT 100,000 miles!!!! (UPDATED) was created by apeman
My 1980 KZ750H LTD went over 99,000 miles on the odometer earlier this week. If I ride as usual, I expect to go over 100,000 miles in about a month. I expected this would occur much earlier, but I was doing a lot of out of town business with the family all summer long, and didn't get to commute on the bike nearly as much. That, plus I broke a speedo cable, and didn't get around to fixing it unitil I rode about 500 miles or so. I'm not going to count that, however.

This bike rides strong and smooth, and is as reliable as a new bike. I commute from Berkeley to San Francisco over the Bay Bridge nearly eavery weekday. For the last 15,000 miles I have done nothing other to it than normal maintenance, with a minor exception or two. It will pull to over 100 MPH anytime, rides straight and true at freeway speeds, and handles curvey roads as fast as an old guy like me ever wants to go.

I will update and post some pictures as the big 100,000 gets closer.

That's great. I remember well when I had 99,000 miles on the KZ650 even though it was way back in 1989. I debated unhooking the speedo, because I enjoyed guys looking at my speedometer and saying "99,000 miles, wow!". After that when I turned over to a few thousand miles, guys were probably saying "Not that great for only 2000 miles". Now I'm up to 67,000 again and just let everyone think I have 67,000 because they'd think I was a liar if I told them :)

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I am getting very close, and should hit the magic number within a week, depending upon the weather (it is raining tonight).

I was out taking some pitures in hopes of getting in the 2008 KZRider calendar, and snapped a couple of shots. For anyone who is interested, a couple of weeks back I have some pictures of our ride when DrWhizBang visited here: kzrider.com/component/option,com_joomlab.../catid,13/id,183924/

Here is evidence of hitting 99,874 miles:
