Good job, Matt.

If you are trying to identify the bike in the picture you posted I would say you have an 82 750 GPZ that someone painted to look like an ELR 1000.

Hey! Got you PM (and replied) and found this thread. Guess I missed it up 'till now.

Anyway, I think I can tell from the video you have a bad coil or wires or something. Not consistent spark. Put a timing light on it, and watch to see if it misses (on either side plug wire) once in a while. Sounds like it is missing alot to me....

B)

While I'm at it, I thought I'd post the body of my PM to you here too, for reference:

Hey Matt.
(Regarding pilot screws) 1 1/2 turns out from seated is correct. None of mine are exactly that, but they are like 1/4 to 1/8 turn off, so you're going to be close.

Now, the stuttering thing? I had the exact same thing. For me, it turned out to be a failing coil. Not completely failed, but enough to make me think it was something else, and I replaced damn near everything else until I got to the coil, and that was it. ;) On a twin, trust me, bad spark shows up WAY more than on a four!

So my advice to every new twin owner: adjust the floats, run half a can of seafoam in a tankfull (once), change the coil, do the relay/coil-power mod, and check your starter clutch. $5 says the three starter clutch bolts are already broken.

Catch ya later...

Oh and ONE MORE THING.... I've accidentally reversed my points cam lobe myself during routine maintenance... troubleshoot for a damned hour, then realize what I've done and smack my self in the head...
