This one is finally getting out of my shop- the owner has been out of town off and on all summer- been a garage queen. Came out looking OK. Fairing and bags off an XS 1100.

Made my own slip on by using an old muffler of some brand, off a bike, and bending up some exhaust bike, welding them together. This will keep the bags from getting soot and heat.

He still has to buy a windshield, and I need to replace the bulb in fairing on the right side, and then put back on the cover. Gotta solder some wires in the back box as well, the old plug in the wing box is pretty corroded, and will fail, even though it works right now.

instead of extending the muffler, i built a heat shield from a section of 4" PVC pipe and 4" wide leather strips. hopefully it works. i'll pack my wife's stuff on the exhaust side til i find out! :P ;)

Good mod! However- the muffler he had on the bike was rusted out anyway- and I had the one you see in the shop, just charged him a hun to put it together and on the bike for him.
