Ok I have an LT230 Quad..runner? It's very difficult to start and once I get it running it wont idle at all. I have the service manual and it does not say how many turns the screws in the carb should be. I cleaned it out real good but I think I need to reset the screws. Does anyone know the benchmark settings or can direct me to a forum I can ask? I can't even tell if there is an idle adjustment or not. Nothing really seems to DO much.
Here's a pic of it anyway.

I got it goin finally. It's actually a 4 stroke, I should have mentioned that. The pull start turned out to be the biggest problem. I wasnt getting it to turn over all that much since the string was coming out like 10 inches before engadging the gear. So I jumped it off my lawn tractor until I got it warmed up enough to stay running and adjusted the screws. Now I can start it with the pull start :) Once I figured out that there is in fact an idle speed screw and got it to stay running after about 10 minutes... I was able to adjust the other screw just like a KZ. Just turned it to max idle and back in a little bit.
Have to get a battery for the thing soon... The wiring is all hacked. If I jump the solenoid it works though. I'm just glad it's running! I even spent 3 hours making the front brakes work.

Be sure to pull the swingarm loose and check the status of the bearings. They don't have a zerk fitting for greasing them and are notoriously famous for going bad and eating the pin in two after just a little while. You have the electric start auto clutch model. I had the kickstart pure sport model. you ought to enjoy that little quad a lot when you get the buggaboos worked out. I imagine Clymer still makes their manual fro those things. They are simple to work on. Good luck.

You know I'm told it didnt come with an auto clutch, but it does have one now! It still has a clutch lever but it doesnt go to anything. I have a feeling the swingarm bearings are bad, I ditched the chain a few times already climbing over some rocks. Also it looks like on the swingarm there is a place for a second roller or guide to help keep the chain on that is missing. Not sure, have to see if I can find out. Other than that it seems pretty decent. Not a bad score for $140 ;)

The "clutch lever" is actually a hand brake for the rear wheels. There wasn't a chain tensioner on it. Also to help with the control at higher speed you can flip the front wheels around and get a wider stance on the front. Also the chain adjuster is a cam type type found in the "chunk" in the rear of the swing arm. You just loosen the 2 bolts on the rear and rotate it in the housing. it will either tighten or loosen.
