I know there are a couple of you guys from KC on here sometimes. Some friends of mine are trying to talk me into riding out to Kansas City for some HD factory open house, the 7th 8th and 9th of September, weekend after next. I think I'm going.
I'm wrestling myself on whether to ride there with open header or with my tractor muffler installed. I really like the sound of my header open, but don't know how the cops are out there. If they're anything like St Louis cops, they're too busy chasing crack heads to worry about noisy bikes. Am I right?
Bike is ready to go. New tire on back, new plugs etc., runs great. I think I can trust her for the trip. Gonna be four hogs and a cow. Don't really care about test riding a bunch of HD's but I do want some of that great KC barbque. Although I wouldn't mind taking a Vrod for a spin.

I'm from Topeka and it seems like the cops don't pay attention to mufflers or loud stereos (there's a city ordinance about not being to hear a car stereo from 50 feet away). I haven't noticed any problems in trips to KC. Enjoy that BBQ I love Gates and Arthur Bryants. But like my administrative assistant (large black lady) says.. "Stay away from the restaurants near the race track. For the best go to the 'hood or near downtown."

I live in the KC Metro area and know a lot of guys that ride with loud bikes ( especially Hardly Doesatons),noisy pieces of junk, and have no problems.
A ton is 100MPH for all you US chaps.

Pumps in is KC. I've been there a lot, but not sure of the best joints. There used to be one down on Holmes Road way south called Smokestack (IIRC) that a roommate worked at back when I went to DeVry about a lifetime ago. ;)

Nates vintage bike axiom: Riding is the reward for time spent wrenching.
Murphys corollary: Wrenching is the result of time spent riding.

I'm not sure where we are going to stay yet, but I assume it'll be fairly close to the HD plant. I think I saw the Arthur Bryants place on FoodTV or something.
But I already told them, if it looks like it might rain, I'll cancel. Still haven't fixed/replaced my plug wires. They don't like the rain at all. I guess I could seal them all up with some silicone grease for now. But a four hour cruise in the rain still sux, even with all four firing.
