Differences between 1981-82 GPZ 1100 and KZ1100

haven't had all that much contact with the KZ 1100, have found two here in Anchorge, with clear titles, that are in desperate need of a total overhaul. In fact, one of them "used to run" or somesuch- might get both for around 250 bucks, all the parts seem to be there.

Other than tank and side covers- what seperates the GPZ from the KZ?

Can you make a KZ into a GPZ clone easily?

The GPZ1100 shares frames with Eddie Lawson replicas and 1000j bikes, I dont think any 1100 are as close. What model of KZ1100 ?

I don't know- I am just diving into this deal, and have not pulled frame numbers or anything.

'the machine' has it right...the KZ1100A's (standard) are shafties, the KZ1100B's (GPz) are chain driven...there is congruence in many of the motor parts, but the frames differ considerably; the way to convert a KZ1100A into a ELR clone is paint it green:) I have the specs on both bikes and can be as detailed as you need.

If it is a Canadian KZ1100R I would
restore it as is.
