I have a problem thats been bugging me for about a month now. I work with a guy who owns a 1985 gpz750 turbo, and he's willing to sell it to me for $500.
It hasn't been ridden in 10 years and he lost the key. So my question is, assuming the worst (i.e. turbo is bad etc.) is it worth my time to bring it home to meet my kz650.
I'm not really mechanical, I'm a Nurse by trade, so any major problems means it's gonna sit for a while as I ride my KZ.
Also, how hard is it to get a new key.
FYI.. $500 is the magic number because he wants a new xbox 360.

If you decide that you don't want it, tell him I'll give him the $500 and come and pick it up. :P

Getting a new key is fairly easy, getting the bike running right may not be, the GPz750 Turbo is not your normal KZ.

 no I definitely want it. probably the only chance I'll ever get to stable one of these. I'll let you know when I either get too frustrated or when I scare the bejeezus out of myself though.

Check out www.750turbo.com/ it's chock full of excellent info on the GPz750 Turbo, including installing updated front and rear suspension.

750turbo.com is Lorcan's website, and Lorcan (a member here also) has run his highly modified GPz750 Turbo 211 mph :woohoo:

I offered to walk from here (Eaton IN) to Bonneville if Lorcan would let me make just one run on the bike :D :D
