Hey guys. I was surfin and I found a picture of this bike. Apparently it is a GPZ 305. AllI know is that it is a belt drive. Is it available in Canada/United States? I really like it.B) Does anyone here know anything about it?

It was a one-year ('83 IIRC) bike here in the U.S.
Unfortunately, a belt-driven "sport bike" wasn't very desireable.

IF you can find one in decent condition now, it might be worth a fair amount to the right collector.

Heck, I'd love to have one as a "grocery getter" and for spirited little rides through some local twisties! B)

Hold out for a GPz550. You'll like the fact that you did.

KK: They are actually fairly uncommon...I suspect most have gone the way of small displacement bikes...people pitch them rather than save them. Actually, there is a guy on eBay who has been selling a pile of used parts for the GPz305 for several months now (he keeps relisting) and he has apparently had few or no takers...

KK according to the factory service manual I have for the 305's these bikes should be much more plentiful in Canada than they are here in the US. We first got them in 83 and then they show a US model again in 87 and 88. They show a Canada model in 84 and 85.

Actually a belt drive makes a lot of sense for a bike this size, however if you wanted to swap over to a chain drive it will be a bolt on affair. I just recently discovered that the output shaft for a 305 is the same spline as the KZ 550 and uses the same mounting system.

The 305 is a pretty peppy little bike and if you can find one it would make a nice upgrade from your 125. IIRC it is rated at 35 HP and comes with a nicely geared 6 speed tranny. I recall seeing in the classified section that you are looking for something to use to build a drag bike. If you can find a GPZ 305 it might make a pretty nice platform. I do recall seeing some guy on Ebay that was selling some NOS Kerker exhausts for the 305 but that was a while back. Good luck in your search.
