I have a 1978 KZ1000 A2 as I can tell by the frame # on my bike what is the diffrence in a A2A and a A2 cause when you go to Z1 Enterprises or the KZ Info page here for the wireing diagrams there is a difrences.

They leaned out the jetting on the carbs (on A2A model) and the carb assembly is a different part number and has a different ID mark. Not sure about other differences.

I believe that the A2A has dual front disks and the A2 doesn't. I don't know of any other differences.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

The A2A still had single disc up front so no difference there. The differences were few. One was the black bodywork on the A2A another was different part # switchgear on the right side handlebars. The A2A may have eliminated the headlight switch if they went along the same lines of the KZ650 line. Also the part # for the exhaust was different having the addition of the four 6mm drain bolts in the pipes on the A2A. I don't know any significant differences, just little later production additions for emissions ect.
