So I have the 4-1 header with no baffle on the 1000 and the 900.
What gives the KZ engine's the lower/more raspy sound compared to other bikes? I have heard a few old Suzuki's, and I think they sound odd. Never heard any old Yamaha bikes, the old Honda Magna's sound pretty awesome.

You know, the crotch rockets are so high pitched. I know they are turning more R's, but why so high on the octave level? I heard one the other day, and it was ear piercing high.

I thing the thing I like the most about KZ's are the way they sound. Do the GPZ's and early ninja's sound the same way?

I've noticed the same thing and I wondered too. IMO it may have to do with the newer bikes having 4 valves as opposed to our 2 valves per cylinder? Plus they run at a much higher RPM than we do...

The engines on newer sport bikes have shorter strokes compared to KZ era engines. Unfortunately, they don't have crap on the bottom end, but wind em up to 8-9K rpm and they'll stand up.
