Yeah, riding in the desert summer heat brings a whole new meaning to the word "hot". I'm going with 20w-50 with some red bottle stp oil treatment. And of course my bike all have oil coolers. Are you taking the back route thru Victorsticks, Apple Valley, Lucerne then up to Big Bear? If I was closer or out at Edwards, I'd tag along ..........markerdown
Hey dude, where do you live?
I'm going take the 138 out to the 15. It splits after LittleRock, the north fork goes to victorville, and the south fork goes to Wrightwood & Cajon Junction. We're going to meet at Wrightwood, and then ride up to Crestline and on to Big Bear. Never been on a bike, but I've driven part of it in my car. Lots of twisties, and some nice scenery. Should be maybe 6 or 8 riders, you should GO!

It tends to get up into the 100s here in July and August..and they're calling for a hot summer again this year, so it's something I'd definitely like to look into.
