I have this friend who has ridden scooters mostly. He took the MSF course last fall I think and got his real license but still owned a fairly large scooter that he drove like a motorcycle. He talked about getting a motorcycle but as things are with all of us he was busy etc.I would send him links to bikes on ebay and craigslist that I thought would be good starter bikes. Endless email discussions on merits of different models. He is not a mechanic and admits it freely. Over the last few days I emailed a few for sale here locally on craigslist and I guess his fever got up. I had told him if he wanted me to go look with him I would. Today while I was at work he called and asked if I would go and possibly ride his purchase home as it was a fair distance over into Kansas and he was out of practice and would like a chance to get used to it again and of course how could I say no? So I met him at his house and he loaded up his helmet and boots and joe rocket jacket and he drove us over to look. The seller had given this bike a fair amount of tlc and they talked and talked . I looked mostly. When my friend asked the seller if he minded if i took a short test ride he agreed. So I hopped on for the first time a 1976 KZ750 twin. It was a fun bike. My friend bought it and I rode it back to his house wearing his gear. It's his first real bike..so now he has crossed a threshold. This might sound silly but I was proud that he asked me to take it home for him.
He has become..a KZRider. [img size=150]

Good on ya, John.

That's great! Another happy KZ Rider on the road. That certainly is a fine looking bike. I hope he enjoys it for all it's worth. :)

Good deal! My lil twin is my first bike, and it is a ton-o-fun. Nice to hear there is another UJM fan out there. Something about the lines of these old KZs that appeals to me.

We welcome him to big twin ownership!

Now, not to freak him out, but I'm on a mission to get big twin owners to check their starter clutches...

750 twin owners, please see this thread!

Hmm... I'm going to go update that thread now...

I am sorry to say John, but you friend is not a KZR yet, just a kz rider. He has to join our club of crazies here to be a full member. So bring him on board! Good work anyways, that bike looks really good
