Hey sandy - do you have stabilization on that cam? I do not, though I doubt it would have helped much. Think this might be enough of a reason to get me to buy a new cam....

Jim,

There's a lot of really small vid-cams out there that can be had for a few hundred, depending on features and quality (see brand name) of course. Just be realistic in what you want and do the research on it, and try to score one when it goes on sale = July 4th sales should be sprouting up soon enough. ;)

No Jim,I don't Bud...just a plain-Jane Sony cyber-shot on an aluminum bracket with 2 mounting points...one was the footpeg mounting bolt, and the other was the exhaust canister mounting bolt.B)

Thanks Sandy. I have been looking at possible mounting points, as I really like the low right-side effect (Since I saw your clip). trouble is going to be getting it out enough to miss my, er, leg? but not bounce too much. I was thinking a three point mount perhaps. Maybe a bar out from the top shock, braced to the passenger peg, and then to the mounting hole for the grab bar (which is empty on mine right now). I need to get some aluminum bar stock and play around, though since I have no welding equipment, this is going to have to be a bolt-up job.

You had said it was also braced - do you have any detail pics of how you rigged it?

I think that boot has earned it's own KZr ID by now! :woohoo:

What type of material (aluminum?) and hardware did you use to fab that bracket, Sandy?

I was thinking that when I finally get MY vid-cam that I'd like to mount it up with something similar to that, but probably off of the lower triple clamp mounting bolts.

3/4 by 1/2 aluminum angle.I think I paid about a buck a foot, and it was about 4 feet in total...maybe 5,can't remember(had some leftover pieces).Made the one angle-brace You see in the pic, just to keep it from bending downwards.
Just used standard nuts and bolts(stove-bolts) to bolt it together.
It worked out perfect, with that type of angle-bar aluminum, because it gave Me a lip where the camera mounts,to keep the camera from swiveling,as it only has the one mounting point.(factory mount,on the camera)

(boot not included)

Thanks Sandy - that helps. I see a trip to Lowes and some Dremel fun in my near future! Oh, and that left boot looks just as nice as the right one of youtube fame! :P
