Cleaning Riding gear was created by Rich
I always wear a Joe Rocket Ballistic jacket, and the thing is covered in bug splatters from the past week or so when I've been taking rides at night. I used to wash it in a bath tub, which was a pain in the neck, I want to try putting it in a cold water cycle in the washing machine using woolite or something, will that hurt it? The label says not to machine wash. Of course, I'd take the pads out first.

The washing machine might damage the seams, making it less protective.
You could hang it on a fence and use a hose on it, maybe?
That'd be no different than riding in the rain, which definitely doesn't hurt it.. then you can leave it out in the sun to dry.
