1, 2, or 3, cylinders?

I think Kawasaki made the 350 Bighorn two stroke single in 71, not sure about the A7 two stroke twin though, and they had a three cylinder somewhere around that time also, I think it was the S1.

Bighorn (F-9) was a single, A-7 was two cylinder 350 , S-1 was a triple 250 ,S-2 was a triple 350 , S-3 was a triple 400 , H-1 was a triple 500 H-1 H-1A thru H-1F , H-2 was a triple 750. Heres a trivia question for ya, Will the engine cases for a 69 H-1 fit on a 74 H-1E ?

Come on, I need to know NOW

A friend of mine had an A-7, fast but very quircky. The intake was routed through engine side covers... wild, but a pain.

Another friend had one of the S modles. That one was pretty decent and reliable (for a 2-stroke) ;) .

The engine cases for a 69 H-1 thru the 75 H-1F all used the same main engine cases ,crank, tranny, clutch, kicker, oil pump. The only difference was the generator assembly, clutch cover, oil pump cover. Engine mounts were the same, with the exception of the rubber bushings used to kill some of the feet numbing vibration on long rides.

The reason the intake was routed through the side covers on an A7 is because it had rotary valves, and that's what made the A7 so fast. The intake port was opened and closed by a disk behind the side cover that had a chunk cut out of it. It was keyed on the crank.

All the Kawasaki triples were piston ported.

I have never seen a comparison between the A7 and the S2, but it wouldn't surprise me if the A7 was faster.

I didn't have a Kawi 2 stroke, but I had a 350 & 500 Susi Titian. First thing you may want to do is scrap the carbon off the cylinder heads and pistons, then invest in some expansion chambers for it will give a good boost to it's performance. Good luck. Bill
