What other bikes are in your garage?
26 May 2007 17:09
Easy enough question. I'm not trying to spur an uprising...my blood is so green that I could be a Vulcan, but I do have a bit of a 'mo mo' fetish that my wife tolerates.
Here is what is in my garage:
1981 KZ 1000 J: ELR 'clone' that is about to get some suspension mods.
1982 GPz 1100: all that's left is the frame and body parts; it was a spent grenade when I bought it.
1981 KZ 1000 J: doing lots of silly things to it to make it a bitchin' solo sport-ride.
1981 CB 900 F: 1100F motor waiting for repair work, then it goes in and the gixxer suspension goes on...hey Suzukis are good for something.
1984 GS1150ES: Speaking of Suzukis...installing gixxer running gear on this and then going to see if she's a keeper or eBay fodder...the verdict will be in at the end of summer and her fait will be decided then.
1991 Yamaha FZR 1000: purchased for the suspension, the rest is about to be eBayed.
1978 Z1-R: speaking of the reason for buying an FZR 1000; don't know when but the suspension will go on this bike, and the 1260 motor is nearly ready (assembled except for the head).
1988 Honda Hawk: stock...wife's.
1988 Honda Hawk: mine...not stock...my track-day bee-otch; a tweak here and there, but nuthin' crazy...yet. I do have Carrillo rods and a TBR box...hmmmmm.
1983 Yamaha XJ Seca 900: got it for nothin' (and looks like it:( ). I'd like to jam an FZ1 side-draft motor in the thing and some decent suspension...like I need another project.
1980 GS1000: Another free-bee that is now a gutted pig. I wanted to make a 'Cooley clone' with some late model suspenders...but again, the effects of project-itis...
That's all for the Russell garage...what's in yours?
Oh hey, I didn't count dirt bikes...oh *pshaw*...we can do that later:blush:

I bought a Yamaha Venture Royale. Sounds like a Buick name.:woohoo:
I have been wrenching on it for a couple of days. Jamie likes it because he can relax while he enjoys the scenery.
Jamie also found the amp for the radio. Nearly blowed him off the seat!!!

Only three, the two 650s listed below and the project SR I just completed. The 250 is still in dad's garage.
And, that's it!

Bad Kaw, you made me feel so good after reading about all your unfinished projects that I'll list all mine (and my Nephew's)
79 KZ750B4, swapped in new motor, should be riding tomorrow (mine)
80 KZ750G waiting for me to fix a motor and install it (mine)
80 KZ750G waiting for me to finish the motor and install the Morris Mags (mine)
83 GPz750 turned into a donor bike (mine)
79 KZ650SR with GPz750 motor, just needs ignition (his)
78 KZ650 with GSXR suspension and wheels, waiting on the 81 KZ1000M1 that's at Wireman's for the donor motor (just bought from SBJones) (his)
Those are in the garage/shop.
This one is in the enclosed front porch (no room in garage/shop).
80 KZ750E waiting for me to install the new motor and find a few parts (mine)
Hopefully, I'll have additional storage space soon
And get more bikes to fill it
