1981 GPZ1100 ELR (clone) value? help!

I saw one on ebay last week and it was a very very nice replica and he haven't been able to sell it for 4000$.
The trouble with converting a B model into an R model and calling it an ELR clone is that the frame always will say 'I'm a GPz' and you can't hide that...and unless you have gone the S1 clone route, it will be difficult to recoup your investment...besides if you really want to build an race clone, you should be using a J model as the basis...that's what Eddie rode:)

ok, trying this againJust talk with the guy who had the J. It hasn't run since 6 years and was outside last winter. I would not be suprise the motor is seize.....

The Clone looks very rough. The fuel injection could be a problem as it has alredy been addressed in an earlier reply. Trust me you'll have more in it than you'll ever get out of it. I have a real 1982 R1 and one of those just went off Ebay at $10,750 USD. The R1 clone that I'm finishing I'll have about $4500 in it. It was an accident repair that snowballed.
