What about the "dry ice" method suggested not long ago in another thread? Another suggested filling the tank with water and freezing it to pop out the dent. Having never tried either method, can't vouch for anything, but you might wish to search the earlier threads for more details. (Enjoyed the Jag restoration link)

what kind/brand of paint stripper did you use? Also is it safe for aluminum if I were to use it on that too? Im new to this stuff....

go to schucks...get the stuff called aircraft paint remover...
but in all actuality you can just get any spray can style paint remover that says safe for metal...
I grabbed my last can at home depot...be careful though...its pretty harsh stuff...like go blind if you get it in your eyes harsh...hahah

I had to laugh when I saw your wiring harness. Here is a photo of my harness from an old '78. Same masking tape notes on it. I wouldn't call 'em "idiot notes"; you would be an idiot to not make notes. The PO of my bike had f**ked up the wires already, I don't need to make it worse. It may be a month or two before the harness goes back on the frame, and my memory ain't what it used to be...

so one evening drak and dreary I polished hard till I was weary...actualy no
haha...I did strip some parts though and give a lil polish while watching TV....top tripple and teh headlight bucket...my tripple is no where near as rad a job as dutch's...but I only spend 45 min...I will do it better later but for now it looks good enough...and the pictures dont capture it well....anyway frame and motor paint are still slated for tomorrow...till got some loose ends and bag n' tagging to do...anyway here is how she stands...

well finished all the stripping this eve and about all done with paint prep for tomorrow...there will be a black motor the next time you see it...
Oh and my lady learned to clean cards tonight as well...so a big round of congrats is in order haha...
