Thought I'd upload a pic of my bike. I have to repair or replace the rear MC, clean the rust out of the gas tank and repair petcock, and decide which set of carbs to install, my original lost the black paint in the cleaning process, I have a spare intact set that should be cleaned before installing. Hopefully it will fire right up without any engine or transmission problems.
It had sat for many years, I am the original owner.
Sitting behind it is my "poor man's Vette" (1988 Fiero) which delayed getting my bike on the road because I needed to repair the transmission. You might find it interesting how that is accomplished, rather than pulling the engine/transmission, the simple way is to disconnect everything to them, disconnect the bolts that hold the cradle to the rest of the car frame that the engine transmission sits on, then raise the rear of the car leaving the cradle with engine/transmission on the floor.

That brings back memories. I had an '82 GPz550 in college. Loved that bike...
Good luck with it.
